Yarr

I was talking with Taryn this afternoon, like a Pirate. Taryn stopped what she was doing, looked at me and told me I'm talking like a pirate! You... had to be there. Cuteness!

No warning

Another parent can tell you all about when their kid got sick without any warning. How quickly it happens. How 'ew' it is. What they say doesn't really hit home until it happens to you. I'd just taken Taryn out of her car seat this afternoon where she'd been dozing. She was very cuddly and put her head on my shoulder because she was sleepy. I took a few steps away from the car. She lifted her head up, looked at me and threw up with no warning. Poor thing! We relaxed and napped the rest of the afternoon away. She woke up with a slight fever, but was acting happy and energetic by the evening.

Willy

So... I'm lying in bed with Taryn after we read our books for the evening. Her little hand is feeling my beard, then she pushes her fingers to my lips, gets a finger into my mouth before I can pull away, and then gives me a wet willy. Seriously. Does she even know what she just did! LOL!

Nesting

Taryn likes to sleep with everything in her room... piled on her bed. That means books, babies, stuffed animals, pillows, blankets, container of wet wipes... you name it and it goes on the bed. You can see in these photos a rug and a few books didn't make it to the bed last night.

Klainie had to push most of the stuff to the foot of the bed so she'd have room to stretch if she needed it! Maybe this is Taryn's way of saying good-bye to her crib, which Taryn helped me dismantle earlier in the day.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

So cute! :)

Old MacDonald Had a Farm

"Eee-eye-yo!"

Moo vs. Neigh

Taryn and Daddy debate colloquialisms of the southern bovine and equine communities.

It's been a while!

It's been a few months since a Taryn update was posted. Here's what's been going on!

Taryn is:
- a lot more talkative; she talks about everything, negotiates going to bed, wants her 'juice'
- a lot more adventurous; she's pushing boundaries, in good ways so far ;)
- a lot more sensitive; when we challenge her as parents on her adventuring
- brushing her teeth all by herself
- a shoe aficionado!
- doing great finishing sentences to her favorite books, or outright reciting parts
- can tell you what's going to be said next in Finding Nemo
- a fantastic, little artist in the making!
- a repeat box; watch out or she'll repeat what you just said! :O
- a dancing princess; we dance during music on ads

Some recent sayings: "Don't get up, get down!" - "Cow says moo!" - "Check closet for scary robots." - "No Dexter!" - "Watch Gaba Gaba?" - "Juice" - "What's the lizard doing?" (when she sees the Geico lizard)
